How does S&D Flooring implement the Recofloor Vinyl take back scheme? Read Below to find out!

S&D Flooring are improving it's environmental impact by recycling its waste vinyl flooring products using the Recofloor vinyl take back scheme. Flooring manufacturers Altro and Polyflor are founding members of the vinyl flooring take-back scheme, Recofloor. Waste vinyl flooring collected under the scheme is recycled and diverted from landfill. All post installation off-cuts are collected and recycled back into new flooring. Whereas smooth uplifted vinyl are used to make traffic management products such as traffic cones and road sign bases.

S&D Flooring were delighted to win the 2019 Silver Award for our continuing commitment to the scheme and it's spurred us on to do even better for the future. This year, our collections surpassed last year savings. As part of our practices we actively promote our Recofloor membership to all our customers and through our branding, communication and day-to-day operations. Many of our current and past clients specialise in refurbishment and commercial modular building, so offering a vinyl flooring recycling service ticks all the right boxes for these clients.

Awards & Benefits

We have reduced our waste management costs and improved our sustainability credentials. In 2017 we made Recofloor history by being awarded 'Brand Ambassador' and 'Outstanding Achievement - Gold' from Recofloor. In 2016, S&D Flooring set its own recycling record of 14.6 tons!

Staff Training

All of S&D Flooring site operatives have had environmental training sessions that focus on using Recofloor take back vinyl scheme in day-to-day activities. Clear and well practiced operations management at S&D Flooring enable vinyl-based projects to take full advantage of the Recofloor scheme.
